Tuning vs. Regulation vs. Voicing
Three different services that solve three different problems.
Tuning corrects pitch. Regulation corrects how the keys and action feel. Voicing corrects tone quality. Owners often request one when they need another.
If the piano sounds out of tune with itself, tune it. If the touch is uneven, shallow or slow to repeat, regulate it. If the pitch is right and the action feels fine but the sound is harsh or dull, voice it.
